Ayurvedic Support for Diabetes and Kidney Health

Ayurveda described 'Prameha' (diabetes) and 'Ashmari' (urinary calculus) centuries ago, along with their management: careful diet, movement, and herbs that act on the pancreas-kidney axis.
The Ayurvedic allies: • Sugar control — Diabanid tablets or powder (Gudmar, Bel Patra, Methi, Karela) before meals; it supports insulin action and protects organs from diabetic complications • Kidney stones — Deestone (Punarnava, Gokshura, Pashanbheda) promotes diuresis and helps small stones wash out while relieving burning micturition • Repeated stone formation — continue Deestone after the stone passes to prevent recurrence
Never substitute these for insulin or prescribed tablets — combine and monitor. Drink 2.5-3 litres of water daily, and get an ultrasound and creatinine done yearly if you have had even one stone. Severe colicky pain with vomiting or fever means an emergency visit.
